Dr. Mrs Esse Nwakanma Obianuju was born on April 6th. She holds a Ph.D and M.Sc in Social Works and a BSc degree in Public Administration (University of Calabar, Calabar).
With over 16 years of Experience, Dr. Esse Nwakanma has Coordinated and provided oversight to implementers working on multiple Global Fund projects (Global Fund R8-R9 projects) on HIV and Malaria with ARFH, SFH and IHVN as Principal recipients.
She supported the state officers in program planning, review and monitoring for quality delivery of intervention and ensured interventions were effectively implemented for high performance. State offices, LGAs and facilities for quality delivery of interventions for result and ensured value for money working with Global Fund Fiduciary Agents and participation in key technical work teams. As a trained super user on DHIS, Dr. Esse also contributed to the development of the CSO DHIS platform, database management and using Software for analysis & Monitoring and Research skills.
Madam Esse Nwakanma is the Pioneer Trustee of Positive care and Development Foundation and is also the Executive Director of the Organization.

Mr. Owai is a dedicated public health enthusiast with over six years of experience in development practice. His expertise spans a wide range of health-related areas, including HIV/AIDS programming, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) support, Community System Strengthening, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRHR), Malaria, and Tuberculosis interventions.
With a strong background in program design, planning, budgeting, implementation, and monitoring, Mr. Owai has played a crucial role in managing health programs that positively impact communities. His ability to evaluate and report on program effectiveness ensures continuous improvement and sustainability in healthcare initiatives.
Beyond program management, Mr. Owai possesses excellent planning, interpersonal, analytical, and facilitation skills. His ability to prioritize tasks and deliver quality service makes him an asset in health and social development sectors. His expertise enables him to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and community-based groups.
His passion for initiatives that address protection, disability rights, gender mainstreaming, and health promotion drives his commitment to improving the lives of underserved populations. Dr. James Adeniran is a distinguished Chief Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon with 15 years of expertise in trauma and fracture management, orthopaedic diseases, medical education, mentoring, research, and publications. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1998), and completed his residency in Orthopaedics and Trauma at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos. In May 2011, he became a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and is an active member of the Global Clubfoot Initiative (GCI).
As a highly results-driven professional, Dr. James has made significant contributions to medical practice and orthopaedic research. He serves as the Lead Technical Coordinator and Advisor for the Positive Care and Development Foundation (PCDF), overseeing the training and implementation of ACT Basic and Advanced Clubfoot treatment courses in PCDF-supported clinics across Niger, Kwara, Kaduna, and Kebbi states. He also leads the research subcommittee in Clubfoot Nigeria partners and provides technical oversight to PCDF-supported clinics in collaboration with Clubfoot treatment initiatives.
Dr. James has led various surgical outreaches, performing life-changing procedures in both urban and remote communities of Niger State. He currently serves as the Clinic Lead at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Bida, Niger State, and has undergone specialized training, including Basic and Advanced Ponseti Clubfoot Management and the Train-the-Trainer course in Clubfoot management organized by MiracleFeet in Abuja (2023). His leadership roles at FMC Bida include serving as the Head of the Accident and Emergency Department (2013–2017), Head of the Surgery Department (2018–2020), and Chairman of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) from 2021 to 2023.
In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, Dr. James has contributed significantly to medical research. He was the Principal Investigator in the CRASH-3 trial, a collaboration with the London School of Hygiene focused on antifibrinolytic treatment for significant brain injuries (2014–2019). He is also a collaborator with the Nanotechnology Research Group at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, where he recently secured a grant for the development of an anthropomorphic prosthetic foot.
Dr. James is a respected member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Orthopaedic Association, the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA). He is a faculty member of the annual Basic Surgical Skills Course at FMC Bida and has authored over 15 publications in reputable medical journals. His dedication to orthopaedics, public health, and medical research continues to make a lasting impact in Nigeria and beyond.
